Scenes of a Winter Evening
The evening - cold and leaf strewn
Around trees that stand bare,
Like a muffled voice, echoes ghost-like
Within veils of silvered winter air.
The orange clouds fade and sink
Behind these distant hills,
Where mist floods the valleys like water,
Silent and silver as she fills.
As birds chatter, flock and roost,
The darkness begins to moulder,
I stand upon this ancient place,
Us both another day older.
Mist seems to beckon me,
With hushed whispers of the past,
Of loves lost and dreams found,
Spiralling with spells cast.
And bare trees stand silhouette
Against the pale cold sky,
Their branches, black and reaching,
To bright stars that never d
Your hollow smile kills my mind,
How do you do your do?
Cheap, plastic repulse, fake and possibly stolen,
Your MacDonalds & KFC lives,
Dripping putrid grease and death,
And you waddle fat, unaware.
The silent ones, who dwell out of the city
Are waiting in the shadows for you,
They linger on the lines of reality,
With knowing and reason,
More than us Humans know,
And they do as they shall
To the surplus and unwanted excess.

Sitting and watching the brook flow along,
Shimmers, dazzles and reflects,
The hot sun merges with the Blackbird's song,
And engulfs all that is real, nothing to suspect.
Detailing the Vashka flying by,
Her quiet whispers, only heard by the few,
Of Fairy glamor and what happens when we die,
Curling the parchment corners with nighttime dew.
And the rippling waters flow ever onward,
Carrying the names of reasons along,
Snaking the countryside, moving toward
The undercurrent dreams of the seaward song.
A Buzzard cries as the morning dies,
High above the burbling brook below,
I am seen sitting with pondersome eyes,
Trying to drink up all there

-Three Days Of Rain- (2012)
The words on my tongue have no meaning
A sorrowful hymn echoed off the tiles
A foreign language floating through the steam
The hot water took away my tears
But the confusion and pain still linger
I repaired this broken melody
As it turns in my sleepy head
With stars on my toes I’ll skip out into this morning
Into the golden sunrise
Into the rain that falls so coldly
I won’t be mislead
Truly, this sky shatters the darkness
I dreamt in color just before I woke
Before the rain could ruin those brilliant images
Drenched and embraced by the lonely spring rain
I can dance for a little while longer
I can sing this love song o
This isn’t a bottomless pool of sadness I know that
Refracted through many layers
A gentile light always reached out to me
You were soft like that sometimes
I walked through a peaceful landscape full of stars
Spread out across my memory like a dream
You were with me
A news helicopter surveys the traffic
Today and yesterday both started like this
Tomorrow will be the same
Even if you despise me
I can’t hate you
I’m insane, a crazy fool in love with anguish
But I never doubted myself when you laughed
Right now, right this second, I can’t smile
No one will reach through this shallow melancholy
Breaking away fro

-Over This City-(2012)
The wind that brushed over this city
Cut through the emptiness between here and where you are
Carrying my thoughts and dreams to that city
Did it rattle your windows and moan through the alleys?
All my secrets are strewn across the sky
In a whirlwind of destructive love born in the night
Beautiful lonely dreams
One kiss, one kind phrase
Did you receive my first and final message?
It smelled like moonflowers
It looked like blue lightening bugs
And it sounded like the wind that brushed over this city

-Under the Summer Stars- (2012)
I’m a dried up husk of a girl
Sitting there inebriated beyond thoughtful lies
A fire started within my hay filled body
Stirring the embers
Your words fell into ashes like autumn leaves
While the smoke irritated my eyes
Your loveliness caused those tears to fall
Happiness, loneliness, sun, and rain
Consuming that dried up husk of a girl
Can I be reborn from my own ashes?
Growing day and night
Loving you every second
I’ll bloom under the summer stars
Even if I’m burned by this emotion
Even if I cry enough to fill the moon
I’ll love you for as long as my heart is beating
To know that you’re human is a magnificent discovery
After a year of confused lullabies
Falling, freezing, forgetting, and finally remembering
Thawing in the spring
Dreams crept back into my head
Was it the smell of rain?
It’s all right to enjoy this scent
The smell of someone I truly admire
In the stifling June air
You breathe coolness into the breeze
You woke me from my long sorrowful slumber
Standing in the lawn
Waiting in the sunlight
Waiting for me
And when night blew in from far away
You were there under the streetlights
Walking with me over these cobblestone streets
The streets that have been littered with so many wis

-The Moon A Jewel-(2017)
Upon my cheeks burning pink
Struck by this night, glowing so rare
Above the yellow streetlights
A canopy of stars, the moon a jewel
Adorning my eyes, tired and dreary
Illuminating these shadows, deep and blue
How could I sing to you?
I can’t gracefully convey a single thought
No sound, no words
An odd half smile, the moon a jewel
Adorning my cheeks, starlit and cold
Illuminating these streets, winding and dark
Before I woke, before I dreamed
Wind stirred the trees, soft and green
Wind stirred my thoughts
Spring leapt into the cloudless sky
Leaving us with a dazzling summer
My heart leapt into the cloudless blue
Leaving me with a tropical fever
Before I woke, before I dreamed
Wind stirred my hair, gently as I slept
Wind stirred my memories
